Stan Clark

After success in Escorts, Clark was one the very few to tame Ford’s legendary – and difficult – Capri, pioneering four-wheel drive that would, more than 10-years later come to dominate rallycross and give rise to the current Supercars.
Perhaps sometimes a little overshadowed by his older brother Roger, Stan Clark was hugely successful in his own right. Always driving Fords in rallycross, Clark’s best days were at the wheel of one of the official Ford-entered four-wheel drive Capris.
When Ford withdrew its official participation in rallycross Clark turned to other avenues and, alongside his busy role in the family business, drove Alfa Romeo GTVs in circuit racing successfully.
