Foust wins, Timerzyanov leads first half *updated

Tanner Foust collected his second event win of the year, completing a successful passage through ‘Rallycross in Hell’ and taking a comfortable win in the A final. The American was chased from the start by Liam Doran who bounced back from his big crash in round four to take his best finish of the year and stay in the title hunt as the series completes the five races of its first half. Timur Timerzyanov was in the mix throughout but suffered a puncture on what was an increasingly rough track and was unable to challenge Foust when Doran took the Joker Lap and the way was otherwise clear. The Russin retained third place to the end and is the points leader at the mid-season marker, seven points up on Foust, ten clear of Alexander Hvaal (sixth here with a puncture) and a dozen in front of Doran.
TouringCar champion Lars Øivind Enerberg completed his winning return to the series with victory in the A final where he took the Joker Lap early and then picked up the lead when Derek Tohill, who had led from the start, did the Joker in the last lap. Swede Daniel Lundh took a personal best third place with his Volvo C30.
There was little to choose between Andreas Bakkerud and Ulrik Linnemann in the Super1600 A final, the latter making a great start from the back of the grid and running a close second to the points leader. The race could have gone either way, but was eventually settled when Bakkerud’s Reault Twingo picked up a puncture and the Norwegian parked the car, Linnemann going through for his second win with Ildar Rakhmatullin and Clemens Meyer also on the podium.
* The result of the Super1600 A final was later changed after the Stewards of the Meeting investigated an incident between Linemann and Rakhmatullin, the order of the top two being reversed with Rakhmatullin given the win and Linnemann moved to second place. The Stewards also reclassified Kim Steinsholt as last in TouringCar with no championship points as he was black flagged in the B final and was earlier black flagged in the second heat for contact.
