GRC sets seven-race 2012 schedule

Global Rallycross has published a five-event schedule for 2012. The series will also take in two-days of racing action at the X Games 18 in Downtown Los Angeles to produce a seven-round championship. With the exception of the X Games, details of the venues are not given, beyond a promise that they will be announced in the coming weeks and that the series expects “to visit top metropolitan areas across the country [America]”. However, in information published earlier this year Global mentioned Las Vegas, Chicago, New York, Atlanta and Dallas as their venue areas. The five events will all be broadcast live and are being linked to ESPN’s coverage of the NASCAR Nationwide Series. The quoted times are Eastern time (five hours behind CET) and are subject to confirmation of the NASCAR schedule.

Information accompanying the dates, says: “2011 GRC Champion Tanner Foust is expected to return and defend his crown along with X Games Rally Gold winners Brian Deegan and Liam Doran, and most of the stars of the 2011 series, plus some exciting new faces like Travis Pastrana and Ken Block for 2012.”
