Today Crown Prince Haakon Magnus of Norway visited the organisation ‘Kjør for livet – Drive for life’ at its homebase at Melhus near Trondheim. Co-founder and daily leader of the organisation, 2009 European Rallycross champion Knut Ove Børseth was proud to show the heir apparent how things develop at the by the royals backed youth centre as well as being happy to become the chauffeur of his crown prince. Haakon had accepted an invitation to be driven around the nearby Bollandsmoen Motorsportsenter where several hundred people witnessed the ride in the 550+bhp Ford Focus Supercar of Børseth. “It was truly thrilling and pretty cool. I had a big adrenaline output and my pulse went up to about 250 I guess. Although we had lunch shortly before eventually all went well and I did not get sick,” stated Haakon after the three flat out laps with a big grin on his face. He pointed out to be interested in another Rallycross-taxi ride if the opportunity would come. Due to illness his spouse, Mette-Marit, was not able to join her husband for the visit as originally planned.
