GP set for Croft

The MSA British Rallycross Grand Prix will take place at Croft on November 6. It’s seven years since the Grand Prix was last run, the 2004 version of the event also run at Croft where Pat Doran, driving a Ford Escort WRC, beat off French champion Laurent Terroitin (Citroën Xsara WRC) to take the victory. First run in 1982, the Grand Prix was a popular end-of-season event at Brands Hatch with often more than 20,000 spectators at the venue, running in December of each year and benefitting from consistent marketing and great TV coverage, until the last winter version in 1994. In the following two years the Grand Prix title was applied to the British round of the ERC, at Brands Hatch in 1995 and Lydden Circuit in ’96. The event was then revived at Croft in 2002, but not run in 2003.

Confirmation of the date means that the final round of the Quaife MSA British Rallycross Championship, also to be run at Croft, moves forward one day to Saturday November 5.
