Hedström loves Helga

Former ERC and SRC driver Peter Hedström is set to race at the Kinnekulle Ring near Götene later this month in the Swedish Championship event and has rented ‘Helga 1’ from Belgian Jochen Coox. It will be the Swede’s second start of the year in the former ERC title winning Škoda Fabia [under Lars Larsson]; he also drove it at the Höljesbanan in his home ERC round in July. Coox is hoping to sell the car, and running it in Sweden offers a decent showcase.

The Kinnekulle event will decide the 2011 Swedish championship and is likely to have a good entry even though it falls just seven days ahead of the ERC finale in the Czech Republic. Derek Tohill is considering running in the TouringCar class at the event, but with only three Super1600 cars in Sweden (and a minimum of eight needed for a title to be awarded) Swedish racers Johan Larsson and David Johansson are not expected to appear.
