Swedish championship, Strängnäs

Holmkvist, Gillberg and Jonsson successful at the Strängnäs Motorstadion.

The second round of the Swedish Rallycross Championship was run on Saturday June 18 at the Strängnäs Motorstadion. Jimmy Holmkvist, the Volvo S40 campaigner, who became the SuperNational category runner-up in the first round of the series, this time claimed the victory and is leading the series by 37 points now. BMW driver Daniel Gillberg used his E30 to run away with the win of the combined National2400 & TouringCar class while championship leader (by 31 points) Fredrik Larsson (Hyundai Accent) scored a sixth place only. Among the Juniors it was Martin Jonsson (Opel Kadett E) who entered the top of the rostrum while standings leader (by 37 points) Tommy Johansson (BMW E36) made it to runner-up.
