Harsányi, Skorupski, Strobl and Častoral winning night race in Hungary.
The third round of the FIA Central European Zone Trophy was partly held as a night race on Sunday June 12 at the Rabócsiring at Máriapócs in Hungary. While the practice and qualification runs were done during daytime the finals started after 22.00h on Sunday evening. Beside counting towards the CEZ Trophy it was also the fifth round of the Austrian Rallycross Championship, the third round of the Hungarian Rallycross Championship as well as the fourth round of the Polish Rallycross Championship.
Among the Supercar campaigners it was Austrian Alois Höller who had victory of the A final in sight when he overcooked his chase to the chequered flag, spun his Ford Focus and, thereby, granted the win to Hungarian Mitsubishi Lancer E5 driver Zoltán Harsányi. After Höller had pointed his car back to the right direction another three of his competitors had passed the scene of his misfortune and all that was left was the poor fifth place for the fivefold Austrian Rallycross champ.
