On Tuesday evening it became known that the reigning Norwegian Rallycross Champion [SN -1600cc] Daniel Holten is set to drive the ERC round of Portugal, to be held over the coming weekend, in a rent-a-car Citroën C2. After his spectacular crash during the third qualifying heats at the Eikås Motorsenter in Bergen on Sunday it became quickly evident that the Citroën Saxo of Holten would not be repaired in time for Montalegre. It was then investigated whether there would be an opportunity to rent a good Super1600 vehicle for the second round of the ERC series, and as a result of the car search the team has come to an agreement with BOS team principal Olivier Bossard in France.

“As a matter of fact we collected enough money after my accident in Bergen to make this deal come true. However, even if it would not have been enough, I would have chosen to pay the missing amount myself, as this is a great chance for me. The French team will bring the C2 to the track with two mechanics on service, but we will go down there with our own bus as well as my team mechanic Simen Ødegården,” said the happy Daniel Holten before leaving for Portugal.
