Officially opened with a Rallycross race on Saturday, April 17 1971 in this spring the Eurocircuit in Holland exists for 40 years. In total the Dutch racing track was the host of 267 single Rallycross events till the end of 2010. 35 times there was a European Rallycross Championship event between 1973 and 2010 on this first permanent track especially designed and built for Rallycross. 7 times the organisation won the Harrie Kiviet Trophy [the late Dutchman Harrie Kiviet was the first president of the ERA] for being the best organiser of a European Rallycross Championship event.

This week the Jokerlap was officially opened. The inside of the corner keeps the same name that it had for many years, the ‘Jubileumbocht’. The gravel section on the outside is the ‘Jokerlap’ route. Old and new where coming together with the official opening ceremony by Jos Kuijpers in his Supercar Ford Fiesta VII ERC and Wim Luijbregts in a vintage Ford Escort Mk1. They drove side by side trough the new section of the Eurocircuit. Sjaak Noordermeer, chairman of the Dutch Rallycross Association (NRV), said: “There is still a lot of work to be done before August 12. But with a lot of help by volunteers, this major project will be completed.”
