Holjes is awesome and a visit is a pilgrimage that every rallycross fan should make. As a race it’s good, as an experience it’s top notch – we mean, it’s not Ascot or Henley, but as a get-down and get-with-it weekend it’s great. And a major part of what makes that is the major party that happens in the woods. Specifically that section known as Happy Street, the road that runs through spectator-land from the paddock entry to the velodrome. And, for the brave, beyond. Somewhere up there is an unoffocial border marked by Norwegian flags. The Magic Burnout Place. Pop-up discos and light shows. And a lot of happy people. Very, very, happy people.
Here’s a jumbo slideshow of Happy Street pics as well as couple of videos tat touch on the subject. Hopefully in 2022 things will have returned to the stage where several thousand people arriving in the woods with caravans, busses, classic American cars and anything else that moves will again be an approvable activity.
Hapy Street 2022 could be off-the-scale-mad.« Previous Post Next Post »
