Multiple European Rallycross event winner American Tanner Foust will race a Marklund Motorsport Volkswagen Polo RX in four rounds of the 2014 FIA World Rallycross Championship.

The American was one of three double event winners in RallycrossRX 2013, claiming victories at Lydden Hill, Britain and Kouvola, Finland. Foust will race at both of those events again in 2014 on May 24 – 25 and June 28 – 29 respectively as part of his four event schedule that also includes Canada (August 7 – 8) and Turkey (October 11 – 12).

“This year is going to be the most competitive yet,” said Foust. “It’s been amazing to be a part of rallycross as it has grown over the past few years and I can’t wait to get back out there and race in 2014.”

Foust made his European rallycross championship debut at Montalegre, Portugal in 2010 and became the first ever American winner at the same event 12 months later. He has since scored five further victories, and twice finished in the championship top three (2011 – 2012). He will partner recently announced Marklund Motorsport drivers Toomas ‘Topi’ Heikkinen and Anton Marklund at RallycrossRX events this season.

“Integrating a driver as talented as Tanner Foust into our program is going to be incredibly exciting for Marklund Motorsport,” said team principle Jan Marklund. “Tanner’s record behind the wheel is excellent and it will be great to get his thoughts on the development of the car, especially as we now have our partnership with Volkswagen Motorsport.”

The X-Games medalist will also race a Marklund developed Polo in the GRC this year, before the Andretti Motorsport team switches to a new VW Beetle later in the season.
