Canada looking likely for World Rallycross date

The new for 2014 FIA World Rallycross Championship is expected to include an event in Canada at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres.

The rallycross event is expected to use a circuit that combines sections of the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres street course with gravel sections formed in the adjacent hippodrome. First run in 1967, the Trois-Rivieres event is well established and at the heart of a week-long festival in the city.

Expanding from the European championship, the new WorldRX series will include events on two different continents outside of europe, although not yet officially confirmed, Canada appears to be the first of those become known.

The full calendar for the championship will not be public until it has been ratified by next month’s FIA World Motor Sport Council.
