Grönholm at Kouvola

Former World Rally champion Marcus Grönholm is a welcome visitor to this weekend’s Finnish round of the European Rallycross Championship at Kouvola. Out of action since his X Games crash, and not yet cleared to return to competition, Grönholm is here today with the OMSE team that he races with in America.

Grönholm will not drive in next weekend’s Las Vegas GRC event where his Best Buy Fiesta will instead be raced by OMSE boss Andreas Eriksson. “I feel fine and I am training like normal again now but I do not have the okay to race yet from the doctors. I will have another check up this week and I am going to be with the team in Las Vegas next weekend,” said Grönholm who is still puzzled by his crash, “I have no memory of the crash and I don’t know why I cut the corner and hit the wall. I had a big crash in Australia in 2005 but not like this, I hit my head very hard this time. I don’t know really how long I was out, there’s no memory of the crash at all.”
