German or French?

Belgian driver Ronny Scheveneels crashed last week his VW Scirocco Supercar into the barrier at the Duivelsberg in Maasmechelen. “Coming down the Devilshill, my car bumped into a big pothole”, says Scheveneels looking back on last weeks racing incident. “Normally on that point, you go on the throttle and the car steers itself into the good direction. This the time the car went in a split second completely sideways.” The VW Scirocco hits the barrier very hard and trows Scheveneels at the beginning (practice) of the ERC event out of the race.

At the Dutch Eurocircuit the Belgian is racing the Supercar Peugeot 207 from Jean-Luc Pailler. The same car which Pailler drove last week in Belgium. The 207 was during the week between these two ERC events tested by Scheveneels at the Glosso-circuit in Arendonk. “In one word. Fantastic this car. It goes were I want the car want go to. The speed ad traction is amazing. The complete package of the 207, traction, speed and handling feels secure and is really great. The car reacts superb. Depends on my result tomorrow evening what we are going to do”, says Scheveneels to RallycrossWorld.com. “If my result this weekend satisfies my sponsors it could be that next year I’m racing a Peugeot instead of a Scirocco.”

Scheveneels says that he feels no extra pressure to perform extra well here at the Dutch track by the bid of his main sponsors and which could give him the opportunity to swap the Scirocco against a Peugeot.
