Pastrana takes win in GRC

Tanner Foust started the 4th round of the Global Rallycross Championship to set the fastest time in the qualifying session at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon (USA) followed closely by Ken Block and Travis Pastrana. At the end it was not Foust, but Travis Pastrana ahead of Samuel Hübinette and Brian Deegan who stepped on the podium.
The nearly 1.5 kilometer track in New Hampshire included a 20 meters jump and a table-top jump which called Pastrana, “Absolutely awesome. This is the most challenging course we’ve had out here at GRC” In the first lap of the qualifying Pastrana breaks his Dodge Dart. “I went all the way to flat on the jump. I broke the car, but we were able to make it across the finish line with a broken driveshaft and a tire pulled under.” The Saab 9-3 from Andy Scott suffered substantial damage, (a broken right rear wheel) after a heavy landing on its first time over the gap jump in the official practice at the Loudon track. A crash of Ken Block on the crossover bridge in the same session brought about the end of the four-lap stint. When Foust started on pole position he ran into technical problems with his Ford Fiesta. Travis Pastrana was there in no time to take over the lead and pushed his Dodge Dart a bit more then a second over the finish line before Samuel Hubinette in the Saab 9-3.
Result: 1 Travis Pastrana (Dodge Dart); 2 Samuel Hübinette (Saab 9-3); 3 Brian Deegan (Ford Fiesta VII); 4 Tanner Foust (Ford Fiesta VII); 5 Ken Block (Ford Fiesta VII); 6 Andy Scott (Saab 9-3); 7 Liam Doran (Citroën C4); 8 David Binks (Ford Fiesta VII); 9 Stephan Verdier (Hyundai Veloster); 10 Dave Mirra (Subaru Impreza).
