JRX debut delayed

The new Junior ‘JRX’ championship will now have its first event at next weekend’s Swedish ERC event in Höljes after the series owner and promoter MAKS Events was unable to resolve the component supply problem that meant the new cars delivered to the Norway were incomplete. This weekend’s ‘Rallycross in Hell’ should have been the inaugural event for the new series and on Friday afternoon the teams working to finish their new cars were optimistic that they would make it to the track. On Saturday afternoon each of the seven drivers present was given the opportunity to complete a lap of the track in the prototype car, but few hours later the following statement was issued by the JRX staff.
“The JRX team has tried its best to have the cars ready for racing in Norway, but due to missing electrical parts package, and although all efforts provided to find alternative solutions, it is now obvious that the first race of this new rallycross category will be postponed one week, to Höljes, Sweden. Therefore, the team can now announce that they are finalizing all details for the next race. A replacement race is planned to be held in September, so that the drivers will have their initial six races in the JRX Cup in 2012.”
