Behind you!

The first heats were progressively faster, the last two Supercar races delivering the fastest seven race times. But when Tanner Foust romped home the clear winner in the penultimate race, each lap faster than anyone else had managed and total time that lopped very nearly five-seconds of Svein Roger Andersen’s previous best, it looked as though the American had set the standard. That reckoned without Timur Timerzyanov who dashed off four perfect laps to slice 0.5s off Foust’s best and leave fastest time at a breathless 2m44.918s.

The only non-finishers among the Supercars were Peter Hedström who parked his Fabia after two laps and Valdur Reinsalu who pulled off immediately after the start. The Super1600 field lost Dag Nordstrand who went off the road and Jan Skala who hit Mandie August’s Fabia and then had his Peugeot 207 savaged by Josef Susta, the car stopping on the track with both front corners damaged. When it was lifted away there was a large pool of oil from some more serious damage; the slick left on the track by disinterested marshals.

At the top of the class, Andreas Bakkerud outpaced Jussi-Petteri Leppihalme and Krzysztof Skorupski to set fastest time while Anton Marklund topped out the TouringCar order, winning a head-to-head with Derek Tohill as the two championship protagonists met in the first heat. Lars Øivind Enerberg was a non-finisher after being torpedoed by Tom Tånevik (who also retired) in the first corner, the blame for the incident pinned on Robin Larsson who was black flagged for moving out of his lane leaving the start. Ole Håbjørg parked his Opel after a couple of laps and David Nordgård was a non-starter because of driveline problems in his Focus.
