Procter in limbo

by Tim Whittington |

Kevin Procter looks like being the first casualty of the Hungarian event, the winner of the second round of the championship yet to complete a lap of the Nyirad Motorsport Center after oil pump problems halted his Ford Focus Supercar at the start of free practice.

“The oil pump jammed so we changed it, but the new one threw its belt off so now we’re not sure what the problem is,” said Procter. “We had a turbo problems last week so they changed that before we came here, it’s possible that something has gone through the pump and got into the oil lines but it looks like I’m probably out of the event here.”

The Tony Bardy Motorsport crew are still investigating the cause of the problems, but Procter missed both free practice sessions and the timed practice. In theory there is nothing to prevent Procter joining the event tomorrow if a solution to the problem can be found overnight…
