The All French team

The driver is French: Davy Jeanney. The car is French: Citroën C4. The transversal engine is French: Oreca. The dampers are French: TexAM. The main sponsor is French: Point S (an independent worldwide tyre and car service dealer). The goal of this All French team: To become the 2012 Supercar European Rallycross champion. If the team succeeds in this, we have to go back to 1993 and 2000 to find in the championships rankings a French driver who became European Champion. In 1993 it was French rallycross driver Jean-Luc Pailler in the Citroën BX GTI 16V Turbo who took the title in Division 1 (Supercars these days) . Eddy Bénézet (Peugeot 306 S16) took the Division 2 European title back to France in 2000. Time for number three then.

Jeanney and his team has set this year his eye completely on the European Championship. The national French championship is a bit on the sideline says Jeanney. With two fastest times already on the papers the team decided to get out in the third heat, despite the fact that pole position was already secured. With a smile on his face, “To check the track and the jokerlap. Nothing special.” But when we ask a bit further. The third heat is also used to test some changes on the suspension. What the team changed stays hidden in the French team for us. When the startlight went of. Jeanney took full advantage of his pole position and took the lead. The first lap the Frenchman took the Jokerlap which dropped him back in the order. At the end it was Timerzyanov, Hvaal and Jeanney on the podium.

Jeanney was, after passing the finishline clearly not satisfied with his third place. “We must wait until next race for a win.”
