Scheduled to be officially launched later today, the new JRX Cup car has broken cover during the lunch break of the Austrian ERC round at Greinbach. Aimed at drivers of 14 to 18-years-old, the JRX Cup is scheduled to have its first event alongside the Norwegian round of the European Rallycross Championship next month, and then to continue at the five events that form the second half of the 2012 ERC calendar.

Produced by Mtechnologies, the JRX car is based on a spaceframe chassis that is fitted with a composite body that can be dressed up to give the appearance of being any one of a number of small current production cars. It uses a 140bhp, 600cc engine and four-wheel drive transmission system featuring a six-speed sequential gearbox. Series promoter Maks events says it has already sold more than 10 cars.
