Dad Doran’s delay

by Tim Whittington |

Former British champion Pat Doran is hoping to drive the Citroën C4  – the car that son Liam will race in the GRC later this year – in the opening round of the Monster Energy MSA British Rallycross Championship, in association with MaKTraK. Doran Snr. has a Citroën DS3 under construction but delays in completing the new car means that it will not be ready before the Knockhill round of the championship in May. “I’m hoping that I will be able to use Liam’s C4 but the problem is that the car is not ready to race and was not due to be complete for another couple of weeks, so getting it to Lydden is going to be extra work. The championship is looking really good again, there are ten Supercars entered for Lydden, so I definitely don’t want to start the year with a non-score,” said Doran. The new DS3 is being put together by Autopoint Specialist Engineering and will feature a longitudinally mounted engine as it is based around the running gear drawn from an ex-KHM C4.
