Monster energises Lydden’s live ERC TV

There will be live TV coverage for the first round of the European Rallycross Championship. With a title sponsor for the first time since the ERC returned to Britain in 2009, the event will be known as the ‘Monster Energy International Rallycross Festival’ and will be broadcast live across Europe by Motors TV.

Details of the timings for the broadcasts will be published closer to the event but the plan is for live coverage of both days, the first qualifying heat receiving coverage on Sunday before the Motors TV return for further slots including the heats and finals run on Easter Monday. “The British round has improved each year and we are pushing to make this the best event in the championship,” said LHMC Clerk of the Course Willie Woods. “The involvement of a major multi national brand like Monster Energy is a vote of confidence in what we are doing but we cannot relax and securing live TV broadcasts with high production values is a crucial element of making the event successful for us and for all the competing teams who will benefit from top quality broadcasts.”

This will be the first time that the British round of the ERC has had live TV coverage since the mid-1980s when coverage on the BBC’s Saturday afternoon sports programme Grandstand was lost.

As well as securing live coverage for the British event, the organising LHMC is offering access either to a live feed or to uncut footage from the event to other broadcasters interested in showing the event.

Entry and media accreditation forms for the event are also available now from LyddenHill.co.uk
