Czech Opel campaigner Roman Častoral recently announced that he remains confident with his Astra G type for the TouringCar category of the 2012 ERC. “We have improved the engine for the coming season and I think that my car is still a potential winner. I’m ready for 2012, my focus is set on the ERC and I aim for another European title,” said the 2006 Division 2 Euro champ who is also looking forward to compete in the FIA Central European Zone Rallycross Trophy series (CEZ) as well as in the Rallycross championships of his native Czech Republic and Poland, the homeland of his wife Kamila. While in the first part of last year’s ERC the Czech had no chance to match eventual TouringCar champion Lars Øivind Enerberg from Norway, he started the second part of the series with three consecutive victories and became the runner-up to the Ford Fiesta VI driver in the last two events as well as in the final point standings.
