Arnesson back to ERC business

We had to keep quiet with the information for some time, but today noon Peter Hedström in Sweden released the news himself that he is set for a full ERC programme with the Škoda Fabia II Supercar of Michael Jernberg – and the backing of quadruple European Rallycross Champion Olle Arnesson. According to our sources Hedström has also agreed to buy the older Škoda Fabia I (aka ‘Helga 1’) of Belgian Jochen Coox within the next couple of days. It is very likely that Olle himself is using the ex-Lars Larsson ERC winning Fabia for some Rallycross events in Scandinavia.

Update: The press conference took place at Anttila in Northern Värmland and it was previously announced that “a former European Rallycross Champion to back the project” would be available at the spot. However, the promised gentleman did not show up as expected and Hedström claimed that the certain person had eventually decided to remain anonymous. Due to reliable information the mentor of Hedström is no other than 1979, 1980, 1983 and 1986 European Rallycross Champion Olle Arnesson, who will be the co-sponsor of Hedström as well as the co-owner of the cars. Yours truly expects the 57-year-old from Likenäs in Värmland to compete in the rounds of the 2012 Swedish Rallycross Championship that currently should consist of the Norwegian (Hell) and Swedish (Höljes) ERC rounds as well as a stand-alone SRC finale at the Kinnekulle Ring near Götene.
