While in 2010 no less than three of the five finalists for the Norwegian Carsport Talent search came from the motorsport of Rallycross this year there is just one, new European TouringCar champion Lars Øivind Enerberg. Enerberg, who has already taken part in the competition of Norwegian’s ASN Norges Bilspotforbund (NBF) last year, hopes to become the successor of Andreas Bakkerud who won the prestigious title by then. The final shoot-out took place on September 21 and 22 at the Vålerbanen where Enerberg (21) met the two Rally drivers Sindre Furuseth (18) and Frank Tore Larsen (20) as well as the Karting teenagers Dennis Olsen (15) and Øystein Helgheim (15) to chase after the victory and the prize pot of 325,000 Norwegian Crowns [about €41,300]. All five youngsters competed in speed tests including racing different cars, karts and cross-karts as well as physical tests like running and cycling. Last, but not least they had to show how they would be able to undergo and present themselves during a TV interview. The result of the talent search will be kept secret until November 25 and the annual NBF prize giving ceremony.
