FP2 troubles

Half-a-dozen drivers failed to set times in the second free practice session. Liam Doran was a shade too late to the grid to get a run after KHM engineers had to make a last minute driveshaft change to his Citroën C4. Marcin Wicik did not start, but now has his Fiesta running again and ready for the timed practice. Kamil Sokołowski’s Škoda has a gearbox problem but fellow Pole Robert Czarnecki is set for the timed practice session having patched up his Citroën Saxo. At JSA engineers are a little baffled that the throttle cable in Julien Debin’s Peugeot 206 could have broken twice, specially as there did not appear to be a problem when they tried it in the paddock. Roman Častoral again hopes that the electronic problems that have twice halted his Opel are fixed, but does not seem at all certain…

Fastest in the second session were Sverre Isachsen, Krzysztof Skorupski and Lars Øivind Enerberg. There was very little difference in the track between the two sessions, Skorupski and Enerberg setting best times within a few thousandths of  second in each session. Among the Supercars, Jeanney’s first session mark of 45.545s remains best, Isachsen 0.431s slower in the second hour…
