Lazy Sunday afternoon

Isachsen on pole. Skorupski and Enerberg fastest.

We are in that zone again; Sverre Isachsen has the prospect of a relaxing afternoon, feet up and the opportunity to bask in the sun while his rivals must sweat it out in the third heat as they battle to join him in the A final.

Tanner Foust won his race, beating Davy Jeanney; the pair placing second and third on time and among those most likely to join Isachsen later this afternoon. Stig-Olov Walfridsson and Timur Timerzyanov completed the top five on time while Liam Doran and Mats Lysen got themselves out of yesterday’s problems by postig ninth and 11th fastest times – Pavel Koutný also looking in good shape until a last lap puncture dropped him to 17th… Also in trouble was Andy Scott who, having run third and with Isachsen in sight, could no more than nurse his car home in 18th place after a last problem robbed him of power.

Pole for Super1600 remains open, Krzysztof Skorupski fighting back magnificently this morning with fastest time in the second heat to drag himself back into contention here. Christian Petrakovits went off the track in the warm-up, “I was a over motivated!” he said, but was in control in the heat, winning his race and setting second fastest time, 1.8s down on Skorupski and appearing set on at least a front row start. Jaroslav Kalný won the best race of the heat, pipping Vadim Makarov and Clemens Meyer in a race that each had led. Andreas Bakkerud was in the same one but appears to be suffering under the title pressure and is only tenth fastest.

Daniel Holten is effectively out of the event having retired again this morning while Ondřej Smetana went off with broken steering and Mandie August did not make it to start in her Škoda.

Lars Øivind Enerberg topped the TouringCar order ahead of Roman Častoral and Derek Tohill, a clean first heat leaving only Jim Laurant as a non-starter in his Škoda.
