Quiet before the storm

PS Racing Center ready for round eight.

As scrutineering draws to a close there’s an expectant hush over the paddock of the eighth round of the European Rallycross Championship in Austria this evening.

There are 62 entries on the list for this event and all of those present have been comfortably accommodated within the newly expanded paddock area at the PS Racing Center at Greinbach near Hartberg in Styria. The early surprise for many is the weather, just under 30c today and predicted to remain in the high 20s and dry throughout the weekend. Yesterday evening, however, there were heavy rain showers and, as we have seen in the past, the mountains that surround the track here can produce rapid changes in the weather.

The on-track action starts at 1100 tomorrow with the first free practice hour, the first qualifying heat scheduled to start at 1600. Sunday will be earlier with the start programmed for 0900 with the warm-up.
