A1 for MDK

De Keersmaecker doing well in Holland.
Just as in the second heat, Michaël De Keersmaecker set fastest time in the third heat and will start the A final from pole. In yet another mixed up heat, Andy Scott was again right on the pace and set second fastest time to book his place in the finals. Sverre Isachsen, Liam Doran and Toomas Heikkinen got their events back on track, by doing what was necessary and making it to the end of their third heat. None was specially fast however, Isachsen best of them in fifth place.
Frode Holte’s day came to a shuddering halt in the third heat when he lost out in a closely fought duel with Tanner Foust. The prolonged tussle from the exit of the Joker Lap section, through Daytona and the last corner up to the chicane where Holte slid off the road and into the sand, probably also cost Foust some time, but the key difference is that he got his Fiesta to the finish. Having non-finished in the second heat, Holte could not afford the off and has now failed to qualify for the finals. Foust’s joy, however, was short lived, the American black flagged for an earlier brush with Davy Jeanney. The result of that remains provisional as Foust has protested the decision. Holte, meanwhile is also in protest mode, arguing that Foust should have stopped when given the black flag and should not even have been on the track when their clash happened… Timur Timerzyanov went off and non-finished in the third heat.
