Deegan claims Rallycross victory after Doran and Foust having a first corner argument.

Motocross star Brian Deegan proved true to his word by winning the Rallycross segment of X Games, last year’s silver medalist having vowed to return and win gold this year. Deegan claimed his victory after moving ahead in the first corner, “Liam and Tanner were trying to be the first guy through the first turn and they both braked too late and they slid, and I used it to my advantage, cut under them and just said to myself, ‘It’s all up to you to win this race.’ And I just drove smooth and started pulling away, and it was game over,” said Deegan.

David Higgins ran second after the first corner incident but spun his Subaru in the Joker Lap section, this incident also costing Rhys Millen time as he became stuck behind the Impreza which blocked the track. This helped Foust to regain ground and when Travis Pastrana then crashed his Impreza in the last lap, Marcus Grönholm was able to climb to third and make it an all Ford and OMSE podium.
