Holten and his thinking cap

Daniel Holten set to focus on 2012 ERC.

After two highly disappointing ERC results at Hell and Höljes youngster Daniel Holten has put on his thinking cap to come to the conclusion to focus on the European Rallycross Championship from now on. “We [the team] had a discussion about the future and decided to go to Belgium and Holland to run in both 2011 ERC rounds as well as to concentrate on a 2012 European series programme. We do not know what will happen in 2012 yet, but decided to put my Citroën Saxo as ‘for sale’ on the market,” said the Norwegian whose goal is a place among the top five of his category. “It was important to become familiar with the ERC and its venues. After racing in two 2010 events [Höljes and Sosnová] and another four of this year [Lydden, Montalegre, Hell and Höljes] I did six so far, and after August I’ll have the experience from eight ERC rounds, which can only be good for me,” claimed the 19-year-old from Vikedal the other day.
