German championship, Schlüchtern

Münnich, Volland and Kirchhof victorious at the Ewald-Pauli-Ring.

The third round of the German Rallycross Championship took place on Sunday July 10 at the Ewald-Pauli-Ring at Schlüchtern in Hesse, a famous Autocross track that has been converted for Rallycross use in 2010. Although René Münnich feared for his engine, after its straining use during the Swedish European round at Höljes, he was able to claim his third consecutive victory in the Supercar category. The Super1600 class was once again ruled by Rolf Volland, runner-up became Rallycross lady Mandie August. While Hans Kirchhoff drove his amazing Porsche 911 GT3 to the second 2010 SuperNational win his ‘son in law’ Heiko Paries had to give up the maiden event for his brandnew MG TF 160 Roadster early due to suspension problems.
