WRC star set for Finnish Rallycross Championship event.

Last Monday World Rally Championship ace Mikko Hirvonen was at the Hyvinkään Rallicrossrata to test the Fiesta VI Supercar he is going to drive in round 4 of the Finnish Rallycross Championship at the Sotkan Moottoristadion at Kauhajoki on July 16. The car was formerly owned by Tatarstan’s President Rustam Minnikhanov, later used by Finn Martti Simonen and is now owned by Finn Hannu Lappalainen. After some instructions by Lappalainen and a slow lap to warm up the 550+bhp engine Hirvonen drove faster and faster, enjoying the sheer power of the ERC Supercar. Many test laps later the Ford factory driver claimed to be satisfied with his first experiences of a Rallycross machinery, said he looks forward to the Kauhajoki event and went home to continue his summer holidays prior to the tests for the Neste Oil Rally Finland, to be held at the end of July.
