Supercars provide the fun

Enerberg on pole. Bakkerud and Isachsen fastest.
The second heat was remarkably trouble free – until the Supercars got to the track. Up to that point the only retirement had been Daniel Holten, who parked his Citroën Saxo after running into the back of Johan Larsson’s C2. Lars Øivind Enerberg was, again, fastest of the Touring Cars, an enormous 4.6s ahead of Ole Håbjørg, each having won their races in just about perfect conditions.
Andreas Bakkerud went to the top of Super1600, “Baby Blue” slicing a second off Ulrik Linnemann’s best effort to top the order with Clemens Meyer shining here and taking third ahead of first day sensation Jussi-Petteri Leppihalme.
The first Supercar race contained Alexander Hvaal who got full marks from fans for trying to pass, but was probably less popular with Thomas Andersson after rubbing his Fiesta up the side of the Swede’s BMW in an ambitious move. Michaël De Keersmaecker was also in the wars, knocked around by Svein Roger Andersen. The second race was won by Tanner Foust after Davy Jeanney spun in the Joker Lap. The race lost Frank Valle when the front subframe in his Fiesta VI broke, curtailing his event here and leaving the Norwegian with a big task to try and make it to Höljes next week. René Münnich featured strongly in race three until a last lap puncture slowed his Škoda. The last two races of the heat both brought jump starts, Knut Ove Børseth and Henning Solberg penalised. Børseth placed third in a race won by Sverre Isachsen, Andréas Eriksson crashing out in the first corner after climbing over the big kerb and breaking a front upright. The last race of the heat was won by Lysen, but the first day leader just failed to beat Isachsen’s mark. Solberg’s penalty cost him dear, slumping from sixth to 11th, while Andy Scott spun in the first lap and was then collected by Morten Bermingrud, both going out of the race. Ludvig Hunsbedt did not start after turbocharger problems in the warm-up, the session also ending Harald Sachweh’s run after a driveshaft broke and punched a hole in the oil sump.
