Isachsen pips Lysen (updated)

by Tim Whittington |

Foust and Linnemann fastest in third heat.

The third heat produced the third different driver on top of the time sheets, Tanner Foust a scant 0.05s faster than Sverre Isachsen but it was the title holder who had the last laugh, winning out in the pole battle after Mats Lysen spun in the first corner of his race. Lysen’s error gave Toomas Heikkinen a clear track and the Finn made the most of it, setting third fastest time to book his place in the A final. Last man into the main event is Henning Solberg, eighth fastest in the last heat he put the M Technologies Citroën into the main event at the expense of Stig-Olov Walfridsson who has pole for the B final ahead of Timur Timerzyanov and points leader Frode Holte.

Ulrik Linnemann was fastest among the Super1600 field, the Dane taking his chance when Andreas Bakkerud faltered in the first lap of his race. The result puts Linnemann on the front row of the A final alongside Bakkerud with Jussi-Petteri Leppihalme an astonishing third.

His confidence knowing no bounds, Lars Øivind Enerberg drove in the third heat despite already having pole, and again set fastest time. Derek Tohill was third fastest, and just scrapes into the A final, the only non-Norwegian in the main event.

Update of 15.15h: Changes to the results in all classes will affect the A final grids and has caused a delay of the finals!
