Münnich, Volland and Kirchhof winning at the Gründautalring.

Round 2 of the German Rallycross Championship was held on June 11 and 12 at the Gründautalring at Gründau-Lieblos north-east of Frankfurt am Main. By waiver of the ASN DMSB this race is the only German Rallycross event taking place on a 100% tarmac track, since the venue has lost all its original gravel sections it had when the Ring was build in the mid 1980s. After an accident of reigning DRX champion Willy Salzgeber the first A final attempt was red-flagged after two laps and a re-run was ordered. Without the Austrian Ford Focus driver involved German René Münnich drove his Škoda Fabia II to victory, ahead of compatriot and newcomer Bernd Wilhelm and Austrian Willi Streitler.

The Super1600 category was yet another time ruled by the multiple German Rallycross champ Rolf Volland and his new Škoda Fabia II. Runner-up became FIA GT World Championship racer Marc Basseng with an older Škoda Fabia I of Münnich Motorsport, while Rallycross lady Mandie August had to give up early with a defective clutch in her Mk1 Fabia. Rallycross long-runner Hans Kirchhof took advantage from his Porsche 911 GT3 beast to make the SuperNational class his, Björn Barkhoff claimed the Division 5 victory and Thomas Leipold scored the win of the Rally car category [Division 6].
