Danish championship, Løvel

Zylauv, Rolighed, Nielsen and Schnack victorious at the Løvelbanen.

On Friday May 20 the second round of the Danish Rallycross Championship was held at the old Speedway track at Løvel near Viborg. It was an exciting event for all involved parties and especially the races of the Super1600 category were intense as the top favourite Ulrik Linnemann was absent, due to his participation in the French ERC round at Essay.

After a day with many fights in this class it was a bit of a surprise that Michael Rolighed claimed the overall victory. However, the final was marked by a major accident with four cars involved but nobody injured. Rolighed took a sabbatical leave for 2010 to spend his time on further development of his Citroën C2, now he hopes to take part in the Swedish ERC round at Höljes.

While in the Group N class Kasper Zylauv (Honda Civic) won his second 2011 DRC round in the Super2000 category Rasmus Nielsen (Honda Civic) did the same, closely followed by Thomas Mark (Citroën Xsara) and Ronnie Karlsson (Peugeot 206). Among the SuperNationals there are three Volvo campaigners who seem to rule the class throughout the year. This time it was Morten Schnack who drove his powerful Volvo 240 to victory. (Based on information by Thomas Jacobsen.)
