Isachsen back to hospital

Update of May 25.

Late this morning RallycrossWorld spoke briefly with Sverre Isachsen. Isachsen broke his thumb in a racing accident during the 3rd heat of the ERC event at Essay in France, when the steering wheel slammed back on his hand. Later Isachsen drove the C final with his thumb broken. After a surgery yesterday this morning the reigning European champion was back in hospital again. “It looks all but good,” says Sverre. “Last night I had a surgery and now I’m back in the hospital to see the doctor.” The thumb is broken. Some small pieces of bone are removed, told Isachsen to RallycrossWorld. “Some nerves at the bottom of my thumb are also injured.” The Norwegian says that the doctors told him that a full recovery will take a minumum of six to eight weeks. “But I do not have the time for that. In four weeks there is the ERC round at Lånke.” Isachsen spoke already with the doctors about this and they will look into it, he says. “They must do something so that I’m able to hold the steering wheel at Lånke.”
