There’s dough in the jar

Big prize money in German Rallycross Championship available now.

For the first time since the motorsport of Rallycross was imported to Germany in 1972 the regulars have the chance to win a tempting amount of prize money from a ‘pot of gold’ that contains no less than €43,250 for the 2011 ‘DRX – German Rallycross Championship’, to be devided over the top finishers of the six different categories. All-Inkl.Com, the webhosting company of Škoda ERC campaigner René Münnich, as well as the German Rallycross organisers together created a big enough prize fund to wake up several of those ‘sleeping dogs’ in Germany that are allegedly interested to race again as well as big enough to attract some more foreign drivers to compete in the DRX series.

The ‘All-Inkl.Com Rallycross Cup’ has a total of €30,000 on offer. There will be a point scoring system for which the single event results of the Supercar drivers and the Super1600 campaigners count on an equal base for a combined point standings list, according to the points system used in Formula 1 (1st place = 25 points; 2nd place = 18 points; 3rd place = 15 points; 4th place = 12 points; 5th place = 10 points; 6th place = 8 points; 7th place = 6 points; 8th place = 4 points; 9th place = 2 points; 10th place = 1 point). The drivers of both teams Münnich Motorsport and Volland Racing are not eligible to score points for this prize fund. At the end of the championship the winner gets €15,000, the runner-up €10,000 and the third €5,000. In case of a tie the single event results will be taken into account to determine the right following order.

The ‘DRX Organisers Cup’ has a total of €13,250 in prize money on offer. The distribution of the points for the cup will be analogue to the points awarding system of the German Rallycross Championship. While the drivers of the TouringCars and the SuperNationals [the German Division 4] share the point standings in the same way as those above the points for the competitors of the ‘DRX Rallycross Cup’ [the German Division 5] and the ‘DRX Rallycross Trophy’ [the German Division 6] will be counted separately. The TouringCars/SuperNationals winner will be awarded €5,000, the runner-up €2,500, the third €1,500, the fourth €500 and the fifth €250. For both the winners of the ‘DRX Cup’ as well as the ‘DRX Trophy’ there are each €1,000 available, both the seconds get €500 each and both the thirds get €250 each. While for the ‘All-Inkl.Com Rallycross Cup’ all six races will be counted, for the ‘DRX Organisers Cup’ only the best five of the six events will be decisive.

The 2011 German Rallycross Championship dates: May 7–8, Estering, Buxtehude, Germany. June 11–12, Gründautalring, Gründau, Germany. July 9–10, Ewald-Pauli-Ring, Schlüchtern, Germany. August 27–28, Estering, Buxtehude, Germany. September 18, Duivelsbergcircuit, Maasmechelen, Belgien. October 8–9, Ewald-Pauli-Ring, Schlüchtern, Germany.
