Austrian Super1600 driver happy after Lydden A final.

VW Polo campaigner Christian Petrakovits claims that his qualification for the A final of the ERC opener at Lydden Hill gave him a lot of self-confidence and that he is looking forward with high hopes for even better results in the following European rounds. “Our aim for Lydden was a place among the top 10, but eventually I went straight into the A final and home to Austria with an outstanding fifth place. The start of the weekend was somewhat frustrating as a defective distributor stopped me from taking part in the first free practice, but from then on it was going better and better. The first sensation came when I found myself being the runner-up to Andreas Bakkerud after the first heats. And when I made it to third place in the third qualifying runs I stood in the second row of the A final. My fifth place overall in England is a good sign, raised my self-confidence and brings me in the right mood for the events to come. My team has done a great job and the car proved that is has the potential for more. So lets face the music, 2011 seems to become a good year for me,” said the man from Großpetersdorf in the Austrian state of Burgenland.
