Samuel Peu winning while Timmy Hansen got stuck in the B final.

The opening round of the 2011 French Rallycross Championship at the Circuit de l’Ouest Parisien at Dreux in the north of France was won by Peugeot campaigner Samuel Peu ahead of Renault driver Jérôme Grosset-Janin and BMW pilot Mickaël Poirier. Guest driver Timmy Hansen, son of multiple European Rallycross champion Kenneth Hansen, qualified with the 2010 FRC winning Citroën Xsara of Davy Jeanney for the B final, but eventually was not able to make it up to the A final after breaking a driveshaft during the last B final lap while leading the field. “It was very disappointing because although my engine lacked some power after the third qualifying heat I had the victory almost in my hands. But these things happen in racing,” said the teenager later. Timmy fought as best as he could, but eventually became only third of the B and, thereby, eighth overall of Division 1.
